eLearning/Micro-learning Series

PROJECT SUMMARY

This project was completed during the Fall 2021 Semester as a requirement of the IDE 552-Digital Media Production required for the Syracuse Universities Master of Science in Instructional Design, Development, & Evaluation (IDD&E) Program. The objective of this assignment was to create an eLearning/Micro-learning Series for knowledge, skill, or behavior of our choosing. My eLearning/Micro-learning Series provides future fellows with the crucial and necessary information, skills, and behaviors about how to set up their home office to succeed in the Fellowship Program.

IDD&E PHASE

This project included the designing and developing phases of the ADDIE process. By design, this project required students to Design, Plan, and Develop eLearning Content to include incorporating a method of assessment and all essential aspects included in the IDD&E program.

REFLECTION

This project initially proved more challenging than I originally thought it would be. At the start of the project, I resorted to previously used methods for planning and developing instruction. However, I quickly realized those methods were insufficient/inaccurate and re-evaluated my approach. I then resorted to using the ADDIE process, started with analyzing the project and material crucial to achieving the desired outcomes, and quickly gained momentum and, ultimately, a great project.

SELF-ASSESMENT

Developing training is a deliberate and systematic process that requires skill, practice, and knowledge for its effectiveness. This project quickly evidenced for me the art and science behind creating effective instruction and the design included in the process. Shooting from the hip will not work. After digressing and applying the skills, knowledge, and science, I learned in the class, and with others, I was on track and felt comfortable with creating the instruction and the process used.
